NAPIER TECHNICAL SCHOOL
MONTHLY BOARD MEETING, There were present at the monthly meetin- of the Napier Technical School Board of Managers, held i t the school yesterday, Mr T. W. Bear (chairman), Mrs R. C. Wright. Messrs A. G. Pallot, H. Pottle. R. C. Wright. G. Cooke C. O. Morse, and R. McLaren (director). Leave of absence was granted ’n Messrs A. Y. McCarthy, L. Bisson and J. Clark Thomson. The Director oi i. jication wrote approving the board’s suggestion w renew the lease of the two art rooms. —The director intimated that the rent had been raised £l5. The letter was received, pending further .n--formation from the Department. The Education Department inform, ed the board that free railway passes from Hastings would be issued only to pupils taking engineering.—Received. Messrs. A. Y. McCarthy, H. Pottle and C O. Morse were appointed a sub-committee to devise means of building up co-operation between employers and the school, 'the director stressed the importance of further co-operation between employers and the school, which was one of the chief aims of the New Zealand ’Technical Schools’ Board. The assistant Director of Education forwarded a plan showing the proposed lay-out of buildings on the new site. On Mr R. C. Wright's motion it was decided to request the Department’s architect to visit the site and interview the board.
