The polling for the vacant seat in the Provincial Council, for the Town of Napier, has been going on all day, When the poll closed, the following was the lesult :■ — t, Mr Colenso... ... ... ... 83 Mr Newton 82 —167 electors polled, but two votes were lost through the electors omitting to indicate for which candidate they intended to vote. The last vote was recorded about a quarter of an hour before the poll closed. The official declaration of the poll will take place al noon to-morrow at the Resident Magistrate's Court-house. Napier.
