NELSON.
Wednesday, Feb. 15. The s.s. Phcebe has arrived with the English mail, transhipped from the s.s. Airedale, which ran ona reef off Waitara, ten miles north of Taranaki, on Tuesday morning, during thick weather. Mr Pi ingle, the purser rode from Waitara to Taranaki, and got the Phcebe to
put back and take on the mails and passengers. The mail-bags were under water for two hours. Captain Kennedy remaius by the Airedale, and if the weather holds fair it is expected that her machinery and cargo may be saved.
