Thursday, Jan. 12. Messrs. Taylor and Boriase addressed their constituents on Tuesday night, and were well received. Mr Plimnier, a supporter of Mr J. C. .Richmond, tried to speak, but was hissed down. Messrs. Hunter and Pearce have received requisitions to content the election. The candidates now are—Boriase, Hunter, Pearce, and Richmond. The Premier has gone up with the first coach through Patea to Taranaki.
