Thursday, Jan. 12. The team chosen to play in the cricket match against Canterbury, is about- the weakest that is possible to be found — a defeat is considered certain. Aldrich, a sawver at the Lakes, accidentally fell amongst the machinery, receiving injuries, from ilje effects of which he died. Murphy, proprietor of the Shamrock Hotel, died suddenly to-day.
