With reference to the recent outrage at Southland, we find the following in the Dunedin Evening Star of a late date ;~William Wakefield and Albert liaiah, the two Maori boy 3 who were seat to the Industrial School from Invercargill, were charged on warrant with pommitting a rape at Campbelton. The (commissioner of Police said these lads fcad been improperly committed to the Industrial School, and his Ezcellency the (governor had, in consequence, ordered their discharge from it, and caused a to be issued for their arrest on sbe papital charge, They were remanded ft? § w e<4
