ENGLISH COMMERCIAL. [FROM THE EUROPEAN MAIL.] WOOIn At Mr Schwartze's sale onThursday evening, Nov. 3, opening prices were (according to our special representative) fully maintained, with, if any difference, more life in the biddings. The following is a summary of the latest prices obtained for several growths:—Sold by Messrs J. T. Simes & Co., Nov. 2—Ex Chile, Wild Duck, and Inflexible from New Zealand —ED (Monogram) 12 bales Leicester and half-bred at Is 4d ; 4 bales lambs at Is 4d — WM, 2 bales scoured at Is s£d—B bales scoured locks at ll£d ; 1 bale scoured pieces at Is and l£d. Ex Helenslee from Auckland —LL, 5 bales cross-bred at Is 2d ; 5 bales in grease 8d; 8 bales ditto 7d; 1 bale ditto damaged 6|d- Ex Wild Duck from Wellington—TE, 2 bales lambs half-bred at Is Id. Ex Chile from Napier—Cross, 23 bales skirts, &c, at Is Id; 22 bales ditto pieces, &c, at Is l£d—D&M, 20 bales in grease at 9d; 3 bales ditto, rams, at 9£d. Ex City of Dunedin from Dunedin J WE, 4 bales scoured at Is 7i<X ; 17 bates ditto at Is 6sd j 5 bales do, Is 6d ; 9 bales ditto at Is sd. NEW ZEALAND PL AX. Messrs G-. and J. A. Noble report a fair demand for good medium and finer qualities, and prices for these sorts are well supported ; inferior is difficult to place. Of 924 bales offered on October 19, about 400 sold at steady rates ; ordinary rough and partly cleaned £l2 5s to £l4 15s; medium qualities, £ls to £l9 10s; good medium to good cleaned, £2O to £24 10s ; fine bright, £3l to £3l 10s. Although a very large supply was offered on Nov. 2, there was a better demand, and of 3308 bales about 250;.> bales were disposed of at advanced prices, especially for the better kinds; common mixed, £l3 to £ls; middling qualities more or cleaned, £l6 to £2l ; good medium to good cleaned, £2l 15s to £-7 10s; line to superior cleaned, £3l to £35 ; low £ll 15s to £ls 5s ; low ditto, £9 *#" ton.—Messrs Barber, Simpson & Co , say that at the auctions of November 2, common to half-dressed brought about previous prices ; but medium and fair qualities sold" at £1 to £2 ; and good to fine, £2 to £3 advance.
