The Wreck Recovery Company's fine s.s. Taranaki, Captain Wheeler, from the South, arrived in port about 7 o'clock last night, and steamed for Auckland at noon to-day, with a large number of passengers, who, we have no doubt, will enjoy their trip. The schooner Hero, Campbfll, master, left Wairoa at 4< 30 p.m. yesterday ; had a light northerly winds along the coast, and arrived in the Iron Pot at 6 o'clock this morning. Reports sighting the Mary Ann Hadaon at Mohaka. The s.s. Rangatira, from Napier via the coast, arrived at Wellington this morning, and may be expected to return to this port on or about Sunday next. The brig Zingara left Wellington for this port on Monday last, and was sighted from the s.s. Taranaki in Palliser Bay on Tuesday night. She may be hourly looked for here. The s.s. Napier steamed for Blackhead at 6 p'clock last evening, and may be expected to return to port to-night. We (Wellington Independent) understand that Messrs. Freoth and G-reig have disposed pf the steamer Storm Bird, which they recently purchased from the N.Z.S.N. Co., for a alight advance on the original purchase.
