! AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET. Roports for the week ending Friday, October 1. [MESSRS. CAREY AND GILLES.] P,\T stock have been brought forward in sufficient numbers to supply the week's consumption. Beef of prime quality sold at from 40s to 45s s}jJ lOOlbs. Mutton fetched a shade higher values than quoted in last week's report. For store sheep the bidding was much improved, and a good number were disposed of. Full grown store cattle were in •ireat demand, extremely high prices were given for large framed animals. Young stock sold freely, but at a slight decline upon last week's rates. Springers and milch cows sold at £lo ts £IG each.

On Wednesday, at the Junction yards, we obtained the following prices :—Fat cattle, a cargo ex Ahnriri, from Winganui, realized from £9 15s to £ls 2s Gd per head. Also per Star of the South from Napier, sold at £lO to £l6 per head ; these were all of good qualiity, and averaged from 38s to 45s per lOOlbs. « Store Cattle.—A considerable number found purchasers as follows: —Full grown bullocks from £8 19s ttf £ll each; tw.-year-old heifers, £0 to £C> 17s 6d each; yearlings, £3 15s to £4 10s ; store cows from the Coast, in very poor condition, !£4 12s G.l to £o 15 each. Milch cows are sold at £9 to £l2 15s; springers, £9 10s to £ll 15s each.

Fat Sheep.—A shipment, ex Ahuriri, from Wanganui, brought 12s 3d to 23s each ; ex Keera, lis 3d 18s Gd each. Store sheep from Wanganui, fetched lis to lls9d; Napier merinos, 8s to 9s 9d ; lambs sold at lis Gd to 13s 6d.
