Arrival of the s.s. Wellington.
The s.s. Wellington, Captain Holmes, left Port Chalmers at 5 p.m. on the 28th ult. ; arrived a'. Lyttelton at 8.30 a.m. on the 29th ; left again at 5 p.m. on the 30th ; arrived at Wellington at 9 a.m. on the Ist inst; left again at 2 p.m. on the 3rd, and arrived here at 10.30 a.m. on the 4th. Siie experienced strong southerly wind from Port Chalmers to Banks' Peninsula, and light variable winds from thence to Cape Campbell; strong N.W. breeze across the Straits to Wellington, and from thence to Napier fresh easterly winds with thick rainy weather. The Wellington steamed for Poverty Bay and Auckland at 10 o'clock on Monday night. She may be expected to return to this port on or about Sunday next, and will have quick despatch for Wellington and Southern Ports.
