New Advertisements. ELECTION NOTICE. Napier, Ist October, 1869. A T a Meeting held this evening, at »£-*- Mac's Hotel, convened for the purpose of considering the election of a member to represent the Town of Napier, jn the place of S. Loofee, Esq., resigned, the following resolutions were passed. Proposed by MrO'Ponnell,and seconded by Mr Price, that Mr Franklin do take the chair. Chair taken accordingly. Proposed by Mr H. Parker, and seconded by Mr O'Donnell, that Mr J. Grindell be requested to stand to represent the interests pf the Working Classes of Napier. Mr O'Donnell, in seconding this motion, ppoke as follows, —"Mr Grmdell, having been known as a resident amongst us, and being acquainted with his character, both publicly and privately, and appreciating him in every way, we feel ourselves perfectly safe in entrusting our interests in the Provincial Council to his guidance ; as, from our knowledge of him, we believe he is not a man to allow any party spirit to influence him." It was finally resolved that the minutes of this meeting be forwarded to Mr Grindell for his consideration, requesting him to stand forward as a Candidate for the Working Classes of Napier. P. I will, with pleasure, which I cannot express, accede to the request conveyed in those minutes; and I pledge myself to further your interests to the utmost of my power, should you return me to represent you.
