Mr Ferard’s Speech, —ln our coi respondents column will be found a letter from Mr Ferard. with reference to remarks in our last issue on the subject of his speech. We were certainly under the impression that he had made a repetition of the oftrefuted statement that the disorganization of Mr M‘Lean’s native army was in consequence of Colonel Whitmore’s arrival qt Poverty Bay. A reference to our reporter,s notes sliows that we were in error—in fact, Mr Ferard seems purposely to have avoided that part of the subject; but our other objections to his line of argument remain unanswered. , ,
