18th August. The natives here say that Paora Rerepu has had a letter from the rebels at Titiokura, in which they threaten a descent on Mohaka for the purpose of killing all Paul’s men. The * Hero,’ Campbell, is loading with maize for Napier, and will sail in a day or two. There has been a heavy fresh in the river for the past month.
