WM. THOMPSON AND HIS EXCELLENCY

(From the New Zealand Ilerald, 3rd May.) By telegram, received from our correspondent at Hamilton, we learu that William Thompson has had an interview with his Excellency Sir George Grey; that the result of that interview, is highly satisfactory; and that the two gentlemen will at once proceed together to Wellington. We are glad to learn that Thompson has re-considered his determination, and has consented to visit his Excellency and confer with him. That Rewi would alter his determination we did not even hope, when we remembered the answer given to Mr John Williamson’s recently-expressed desire to see him —namely, that “he did not wish to see the face of a white man till he met one in h—l.” ■
