LOCAL INTELLIGENCE.
Departure of Troops. -We understand that three companies of the 14th Eegt., at present stationed here, are under orders to proceed to Auckland. H.M. s.B. Eclipse is expected daily to convey them to their destination. This arrangement will deprive Napier !of the pleasure of listening to the weekly discourses of their fine band. To Contractors.— Sealed Tenders will be received at Government House, Auckland, or at the office of this paper, up to the 9th day of December next, at 12 o’clock precisely, for the completion of the Maori war. The Contractor will have to find his own tools and materials. The Governor does not bind himself to accept the lowest tender. Further particulars may be obtained upon enquiry.
The number of sheep imported into Auckland from the Port of Napier since January 1, 1861, is 17,397. —Southern Cross , Nov. 10.
