Madame Yitelli takes her farewell benefit this evening, and Thatcher performs tomorrow night for the last; time. For particulars we refer our readers to an advertisement etsewnere iu our columns.
Small took his farewell benefit last evening, when he apjpi ed in two new characters “ Ihe Cure,” and his celebrated stump speech “Or any oder man Madame Vitelli sang several new pieces, whilst Thatcher gave fresh locals in “ Presented at Court” and “ Photographic Sketches.” From a New Zealand Gazette received yesterday, 22nd, we learn that Donald M’Lean, Esq., has been appointed by the Governor to lay informations under “ Native Land Purchase Ordinance;” that “ The Boarding House Licenses Act” has received the Governor’s assent, but that the assent to “ The Drainage Act” has been withheld; also, that the first Government prize for rifle shooting has been awarded to Lieut. W. T. Owen, of Wanganui, and the second to Corporal W. Humphries, cf Taranaki. There is no prize awarded to this Province ; in fact it figures lowest in the averages.
