LOCAL INTELLIGENCE.
Accidents. —On Tuesday last, as a trooper belonging to the Colonial Defence Force, was proceeding in front of Mr. M’Nalty’s, Shakspeare-road, the horse reared up and fell backwards on the the top of its rider. The man was stunned by the fall, and medical attendance was immediately called in, but we believe he is recovering from its effects. On the following day (Wednesday) Mr. J. K. Tatum was breaking in a horse on the White-road, W'hen, whilst near the stockyard, it became unmanageable, and ran off the road, knocking down a little boy belonging to Mr. Corry; the wheel passing over his back. He was not, however, by good fortune, seriously injured, and is now progressing favorably, but this should serve as a caution to drivers in future.
