New gold field at Frazer River. English steamer Mexico, from Vera Cruz to Havana, burnt with all passengers. Aggressive movements of French in Mexico soon to be undertaken. A deserter from the 9th Alabama states that his regiment laid down their arms since their last battle on the Rappahannock, refusing to serve any longer in the rebel army.
