Rebel plot to fire Buffalo and release prisoners on Johnson’s Island. Rumored disaffection in Bragg’s army, and destitution amona Lee’s forces. State elections in favor of Union party, and re-election of Lincoln popular. Rebellion in St. Domingo progressing. Magnificent reception of Russian fleet at San Francisco. New gold field at Frazer River. English steamer Mexico, from Vera Cruz to Havana, burnt with all passengers. Aggressive movements of French in Mexico soon to be undertaken. A deserter from the 9th Alabama states that his regiment laid down their arms since their last battle on the Rappahannock, refusing to serve any longer in the rebel army.
