CORRESPONDENCE.
To the Editor of the Hawke's Bay Times. Sin, —On Monday last, at the Resident Magistrate’s Court, an aboriginal native was fined ss. for drnnkenness. How came he to get drunk ? Why are not the provisions of the law prohibiting Europeans from selling liquor to natives carried out ? Evidently, there is a screw loose somewhere. QUERY. Napier, Jan. 28, 1864.
