DUNEDIN STOCK 3IAHKET. From Diuvrii, Maclean, & Co.’s New Zealand Live Stock Report for 4th July, 1863. Wo have no important change to notice in prices realised during the past week for stock of various descriptions. Buyers continue plentiful, and are disposed to invest at rates a shade higher than our quotations. Eeally good stock is very scarce, and holders anticipate a further advance upon present prices, consequently transactions have been rather limited during the week. Fat Stock. —The market has been well suplied with both beef and mutton. All the cattle offered were taken by the trade at about late quotations. Our butchers are not over-stocked, and we think if judgment is used in lots forwarded, present prices will bo maintained. Wo shall not receive further supplies from Qipps Land for some time to come, as no vessels are on the way or loading ; and from the North Island our receipts of fat cattle will bo limited. We sold 70 head cattle, ex Kate Waters, from Gipps Land, at an average of £23. The lot, per Lombard, from same place, realised from £ls to £lO. The trade are fully supplied with fat sheep and will require from two or three weeks to work off present stock—after which time we anticipate an active demand. No sales have been effected during

the week.

Store Stock.- —We have to report an increasing demand for stores both sheep and cattle. Of the former we know of but one lot (2000 wethers) in the market, (imported Irom Napier), in our hands, the owner refusing to take less than 31s. Ewes, in lamb, are much wanted, and are saleable at from 32s Gd to 355. Useful cattle, over two years old are very saleable. We have placed under oiler 350 head mixed cattle, delivered on the Waitaki, at £l3, also a splendid mob af 200 head (all over two years old, just landed, ex Kate Waters. We have several buyers for these cattle which will find immediate sale.

Hoese Market. —We cannot report any material change from that of last week same langour pervading the trade, with every likelihood of its continuance for some time to come, not merely from so many horses having lately arrived from 'Victoria and Tasmania. The current rates are: —Eirst-class draught horses £55 to £75 ; medium do, £35 to £SO ; inferior do, £2O to £25 ; good fresh young hackneys, £SO to £65 ; medium do, £35 to £3O ; inferior do, nominal.
