Greytown Races.—We see by the Independent of the 31st ultimo, that Mr. Cameron’s “Volunteer”won the Hurdle Race, of £ls, and a Handicap ; hut was beaten by Mr. Smith’s “Doctor” in the Wairarapa Stakes of .£25. Trial for Murder.—Sentence of Death.—At the sittings of the Supreme Court in Auckland, Henry Johnson was tried and found guilty of the wilful murder of Isaac Yon Arsdale. His Honor the Chief Justice passed sentence of death. Rhuc-an-Dhukras. —This favorite race-horso ■which changed hands after the last Auckland races, died three days after landing at Sydney. The horse was apparently well when landed.
