Passenger—Mr. Somerville SAILED. October 31.— Wonga Wonga, s. s., 103 tons, F. Renner, for Wellington, with part of original cargo for Castle Point; sundry packages, order ; 3 casks beef, Stuart, Kinross, & Co. Pasem'ers (cabin) —His Honor Mr. Justice Johnston, Rev. J. T. Shaw, Mr. & Mrs. G. S. Cooper, Mrs Magnison, Messrs. R. R. Strang and J Browne ; (steerage)—Mr. T. Farro. Nov. 2— Surprise, schooner 55 tons, Braund, for Auckland, with 1 ton hams and bacon, Forester and Co. ; 2 horses, J. Watt. Passengers—Capt. Hunter, Messrs. Waft, Forester, Evinson, 1 private 14th regt. —Forester & Co., agents. The Ann arrived in harbor on the sth inst. after a good run of four days. The Albatross, en route for Otago, called in here on the 27th ult. She landed 3 passengers and sailed again on the 29th, with 24 passengers for Otago. Capt. Clark reports the gold, fever as subsiding in Auckland. The following testimonial to the master of the Surprise schooner has been handed to us, and we feel a pleasure in giving it publicity : Schooner Surprise, Otago, October, 1861. Captain Braund, Dear Sir, —Before taking leave of you and your vessel upon our arrival at our destination, we are desirous of expressing our thanks for the kind treatment which we have received from you during our voyage from Auckland. Nothing that courtesy and attention could effect towards making a voyage agreeable has been omitted on your part, and we feel confident that all those who in future may a voyage in the Surprise will be much gratified, Both by the excellent qualities of the vessel and the unvarying kindness and liberality of her commander.
