GOVERNMENT DETERMINED
No Interruption of Indispensable^ Services (Received 30, 12.30 p.m.) PARIS, Dec. 29. As a result of the strike of transport and municipal workers, it is estimated that 1,500,000 people walked to work. A Ministerial conference, ineluding M. Daladier, Minister of War, decided on urgent measures which will be submitted to Cabinet. M. Chautemps issued; a communique announcing the Government's determination to face the serious situatiqn with the greatest vigour, and will not permit interruption of indipensable services or allow disorders. Latej* the Governmeut decided to use troops to run the public services tQ' morrow unless the strike of 140,000 employees, paralysing tranpport and other services, is called oif immediately. This was learned authoritatively after a Cabinet meeting, at which it was stated that army engmeers, aided by 400 naval experts, had been enroUed to run the underground, eleetric and gas services. — -■ 1 " - ■ f
