SEE YOURSELVES AS OTHERS SEE YOU
Does your make-up give von a glamourous feeling, or is it merely anothe application of lip-stiek and powder? You have the correct shades of powder, rouge, and lipstick — why not use theni to make yourself more intere-sting and appealing? To change the shade of powder, use a lipstick that is brighter than usual, and an eye shadow in the evening, will make you feel a different woman. For a change try using two shades!. of powder. First lightly dust the face with a very light powder, then with a special brush remove the surplus. Now spread the film of darker powder over the skin and you have a make-up whicn appears to be luminous. If the faee fliishes, or you suffer from indigestion try a green powder for night wear. Tliis will tone down the flush, and make you appear cool. Little tricks of placing rouge will heln to disguise many a blemish. The tiniest touch beneath the nose wil! make it appear shorter, while a dab on the tip of each ear will further enhanccthe appearance. If the face is oval, place the rouge evenly over the cheekbone. If it is inclined to squareness, place the colour higher on the cheekbone and slightly toward the side of the face. A fa.e* that is too narrow and pointed may bj. given apparent broadness by placing the rouge m the centre of the cheek. Shonld the mouth be a t.rifle too widc apply lipstick from the centre outwards tapering off within an eighth of an inclv from the corners of the mouth. This will make it appear smaller. If your skin has dark patches, romember that a lighter shade of powdm* applied to the patches will make them less noticeable. The reverse is the caso with large noses. These offending features mav be made less conspicuous bv dabbing witb a powder which is darker in sbade than that used on the rest 0* the face. Abovc all, never venture out of doors with a new make-up scheine until yoj liave tried it out in the privacy of yout own room, and always bave a good, strong light shining full on the face, winle applying make-up. Shaded lighfs are useless in beaujy's programme. Make-up has to withstand the glare of daylight or of electric lights, which are equally revealing, so be sure to see j\ursell! as ot.liors will see you
