The Awatea cleared Sydney Head* at 8.54 p.m. on Fridav and entered Wellington Heads at 6.41 this morning, lowering her previous record by one hour to two days seven hours Vt minutes, averaging 22.9 knots. The master said that the record was mereJy incidental, the objeet being to berth al 7.45 and give everyone a full ' day aehore.
