VALEDICTORY

Mr. F. N. Clouston Mr. F. N. Clouston, who is going overseas to join his brother (recent creator of new flying records) was farewelled by fellow members of the Napier Aero Club last night. After presenting Mr. Clouston with A. and B. gliding certifieates, Mr. W. Haxton asked him to accept a silver cigarette case mounted with the club 's badge, and a set of photographs of the new Napier, with the members' signatures attached. In returning thanks for the gifts, Mr. Clouston said he v lld endeavour to obtain information in Jngland which would assist the gliding movement in New Zealand. Opportunity was taken to issue A, licences to the following members: — Messrs. Arnold Wright, D. Stewart, W. Haxton, N. Oliver, T. P. Husheer and D. Montgomery. B licences are ready for issue, pending examination of candidates in glider maintenance and rigging test and meteorological knowledge test. These are the first A and B glider certifieates issued in New Zealand.
