Jockey Escapes Serious Injury OPENED WRONG DOOR Travelling by the limited expresa from Auckland to Te Awamutu on Sunday evening, M. J. Stewart, jockey, living in Clarence road, Ponsonby, was reported as missing by a companion, H. Turvey, shortly before the traain reach~«d " Te Kauwhata the mishap was reportea to Auckianu, wnen ti gang of about 50 railway emjfloyees commenced a search. The search proceeded without result until Monday; morning when Stewart himself turnedi up at Whangamarino station. It was stated that Stewart had left his seat to go to the men's toilet but had opened the wrong door through oi* to the track. He apparently sufferedi little as a result of his fall and shortly after picking himself up he came upon a surfaceman's hut, where hq spent the rest of the night. In the early morning he went to Whangama-» rino on a railway jigger. There he had! a wash and was taken back to Mercer, where he boarded a race train( with the intention of proceeding to Tq Awamutu. On the train, however, he was exj amined by a doctor, who suggested that he should go into hospital and accord-. ingly he was taken to Waiakato Hos-. pital when the train arrived at Frankton. His condition is reported to ba not serious.
