South Island Telephone Lines Affected

DUNEDIN, This Day. . Telegraphic and telephonic communication with the South was interrupted for two hours, when a motor-car, driven by Peter McDonald, a farmer, of Waihola, crashed into a pole at the Jtfbrth Otokia School. The pole — a double irou rail — was badly damaged. Mr McDonald, who was accompanied by hit wife and a boy, aged eleven, suffered cuts on the face by flying glass. and % bruised leg. Hjs wife escaped with minor injuries, while the boy received extensive cuts on the head.
