AUCKLAND, Last .Night. 1 A former Consul for France in New; Zealand, M. Edouard M. V. M. Joubert, died in Auckland at the age of 55 years. M. Joubert was Consul for France in New Zealand for over six years. Tll« health compelled him to retire at the end of last September. He aTrived 'at Auckland in June, 1931, to take up hie appointment in succession to M. Pao!

Serre. During the Great War M. Joubert served as an artillery officer, being wounded at Yerdun in 1918. He was awarded the Croix de Guerre and was Chevalier of the Legion d'Honneur.
