Effective Preparation The drenching season ior lambs is now at Land and in response to inquiries made the following drench recommended by the Departinent of LiveStock is most effective in dealing with parasites. The dose consists of 11b. of bluestone (copper sulpbate), 16 fluid ounces of nicotine sulpbate, such as Black Leaf 40, tG five gallons of water. If smaller quantities of drench are required three ounces of each can be used to tbe gallon of water. The dose is from onc-lialf ounce for weak lambs to one ounco for strong grown lots. There is no need to starve tlie animals previous to drenching ; in fact, it is better not to do so. Dosing sliould be repeated at two to threeweek intervals and the present time is noi to early to make a start. It is important to note tliat this preparation has also a certain amount of tonic effect, so that even if lambs are not heavily affected with parasites they dcrivo beuefit from the dosing.
