Tangoio Children's Afternoon
I The December meeting of the TanB goio Women 'b Institute w£ts held in I the school, Mrs. Lowe presiding over a ■ fair attendance of members. Being chilR dren's afternoon, the meeting was to ■ lvave talcen the form of a picnic, but I unfortxmately the weather was xxnfa- ■ vourable. ■ Business was quieklv dealt with, and ■ tlie competitions for the month wTere ■ 1 judged, with Tesults as followis: Three ■ small cakes, Miss P. Jessep 1, Mrs. MaI hony and Mrs. Hanna (equal) 2. Best ■ bloom. Mrs. Mahony 1, Mrs. Osborne j| and Mrs. Hanna (eqyal) 2. The roll
call was "How I would like to spend Christmas." Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs. Jessep and Misfees E. and P. Jessep, after which the children received toys, balloons and sweets. The singing of the National Anthem brought a most enjoyable afternoon to a close.
