DRESS YOUR CHRISTMAS GIFTS WITH RIBBONS

Wrappings for our Christmas pareels have become almost as important as the gifts which they enfold. Humble brown paper and string are for everyday use, aud for the last two or three years women have felt that Christmas presents warrant a wrapptog worthy oi the occasion. This year the shops are supplying boxes, papers, ribbons,/ stickdrs ana tags a^orned with Christmas symboxs. Each is a thtog of loveliness in' itself and the selection of these aeeessories to the gift will prove as exacting a task as deciding which present is Jto go to whom. But the thought and time devoted to the wrappings will be well spent, for the smallest gift sent in an attracnve setting will gladden the heart of tho one who receives it so much nxore than a parcel which comes without a festive toueh. There is something very fascinattog about a bundle of coloured cellophane,. Its brilliance and crispness make it an ideal Christmas wrapping, and it seems as if, this year, it is taking the place of the coloured tissue-papers we havo used before. Even the "ribbons" for 1 our pareels are being made of celloplxane printed with bells, holly, and figures of Santa Claus. Stickers and tags on which to write appropriate greetings are also adorned with appropriate motifs, and this year artists have made daintier things of these. For those who prefer to" eend_ their gifts in .boxes the stores are selling boxes covered to beautiful papers and tied with satin ribbons to mateh. Theso boxes are so lovely that, long after Christmas has past, they are sure to be found housing hanaKerchxefs ov gloves in bedrooms, or doilys in the linen cupboard. In faet, wrappings this Christmas are all so f rtistically designed that one will be loath to relegate them to the wastepaper basket, and, like a child, will be terapted to put them aside just in case they rnight do for something later on.
