BRIDE WEARS GOWN OF HAIL-SPOTTED SATIN
GALLAWAY — HOWELL Lovelv bowls of pink rambler roses and blue delphiniums decorated St. Matthew's Clxurch, Hastings, on- Saturday," and tiny posies of blue hydrangeas and pink roses were tied at the end -of each pew for the wedding of Eva Ann, youngest daughter of Mr E. J. Howell and the late Mrs E. Howell, of Rissington, and John Alexander, eldest son of Mr and Mrs A. Gallaway, of Dannevirke. A beautiful wedding gown of white hail-spotted ripple satin was worn by the bridc, who was givelx away by her father. Her gown was fashioned with a cowl neckline in front with a little row of rucking below the cowl, and tiixy satin-covored buttons fxnished the back and also the wrists of the long sleeves, which were slightly full above the elbow. The skirt was slightly trained, and a wide belt defined the wrist. She wore silver shoes, and her veil of embroidered tulle xvas arranged with a very dainty halo of tiny pearl orange blossom buds axid lilies, being worn over her face while in the church. She carried a she.af of Madonn-i lilies. The only bridesmaid was Miss Marjorie Cooper, Havelock North, whose gown was Of green georgette flowered in shades of pink and cut in redingote style, with long sleeves. She wore a wreath of natural pink floxvers, and carried a bouquet of pink carnations. Mr Graham Gallaway carried out the duties of best man. At the ceremony Canon C. Mortimeroones officiated, and Mr C. B. Spinxxey presided rl the organ. The wedding reception was held at the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs F. Vaughan, Southampton street, Hastings, who received the guests. She wore a model suit of nigger broxvn suede silk with a lemon mariette blouse havixxg a brown clasp at the neck. Her hat was also brown, and she wore a shoulder spray of autumn-tinted flowers. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs A. Gallaway, wore a navy blue ensemble with navy and white patterned erepe de ehine frock, navy redingote aixd-navy ha't and aeeessories. Her bouquet was a shades of red. The .flowers in the reception room had been beautifully arrangeu by Mrs Vaughan. Large bowl were filled with pixxk caetus, dahlias, spirea, blue delphiniums, roses, gypsophila and maidenhair fern, while olhers were arranged with pink sweet pec.s, elarkia and dolplxinuims, with copper beech folage.
^.eautiful pink gla_-o.- were also used in the decorations. A buffet afternoon tea was enjoyed by the guests. The two-tiered wedding cake, which was topped with a dainty vase of white sweet peas, mock orange blossom and gypsophila, was a gift from the bride's brother-in-law, Mr Anderson, of _aupo. After the reception the bride and bridegroom left for a motor tour in tlie Taupo and Rotorua districts, the bride travellxng in a very smart ensemble with tnnic of brown satin lacquered in gold, orange and green, worn with a brown wool crepe de chine skirt and matching short redingote with gold filigree clasp at the wrist. She worn a brown hat and aeeessories.
