RED CROSS SOCIETY EVENING IN NAPIER

The Napier branch of the New Zealand branch of the New Zealand Red Cross -Society held another of their pleasant parties last evening in the Willard Hall, Napier, when Mr M. 3. Spence, president of the society, assisted by Mr A. E. Bedford, presented members of .the nursing division with certifleates, medallions and bars. The Rev. Stuart Franc-is gave a moav xnteresting address on the useful env ploymer.t of lei--ure time and the givxng of service, which was followed with ciose attention by all present. Musical items were given by Mrs A. ±\ Spackxxxan, Miss Nancy Frixxxe and Mr F. L. Hunt, Mrs L. J. Frlme being presented to Mesdames Prixne anu che accoxnpaniste. Floral sprays were presented to Mesdanxes Priine and Spackman by the nursing committev, and Miss E. M. King and Mrs Norman, ihe nursing sister, were recipients or nouquets from members of the nursxug division. The first-aaid cup was won Dv Misses Nancy Davis and Daphne Johnson, the runner-up being Miss Barbara lvxacdoi.ald. A delicious supper was served, and the singing of the National Anthem brought the happy gathering to a close.
