In the class rooms a very creditable display of the children's work — seWing writing, drawing and h and work — was rnucli admired and appreciated by the A-isitors. Followdng the afternoon tea the chairman of the school committee, Mr G. Limbrick, addressed the children, and complimented them on their very fiiie display of handieraft; also on their year's record in both work and sports. He also paid a tribute to the work of I the teaching staff and in eugolistic terms refefred to the splendid assistance that had been given the committee by a small but most enthusiastic band of ladies at various functions held during the year. He also mentioned that Father Christmas had not been invited this year to attend, but that instead the committee was hoping to give the children an extra special treat next year in the way of a picnic, taking them perhaps on a trip to Napier. The Dux medal was presented to John Verran, whose work throughout fhe year has been of a very high uality. About twenty good attendance certificates were next presented, also the primary school certiflcates. A distribution of ice creams and oranges to the children brought the proceedings to a close.
