VANDALISM IN BOROUGH RESERVES
"It is to be deeply regretted tbat once again vandalism appears to be rampant in our parks, reserves and public buildings," said Cr. A. I. Rainbow, at the meeting of tbe Hastings Borougb CounciJ last evening, wben drawing attention to tbe fact tbat, during Jast montb, some 20 flowering gums plunted in Windsor Park bad been unlawfully removed. A- further instance of vandalism was reported as regards the Muuicipal Theatre, where for tbe second time witbin a few montlis a portion of the metal piping in tbe public conveniences had been wantonly wrenched from the wall and tben cast aside. Amazement was expressed by borougb officials at tbe total lack of reason or sense of sucb an action, wbicb obviously had been committed by someone older than a boy.
