RAIN & 'QUAKE AFFECTS WOMEN'S REST
Last month was quite au eventful one for the Hastings Women's Rest as regards disturbanees of nature, damage being done to the building by the earthquake and also by rain, according to the report of the Matron, Mrs K. Hagenson, presented at the meeting of the Hastings Borough Couneil last eveniag. On Kovember 15 the eoiinectiiig pipe to the hot water-supply tanlc was fractured by the earthquake experienced on that day, while on two days' the heavy rain experienced in Hastings revealed a leak in the roof of the new wing o the Rest, the water seeping through the plaster ceiling and flooding the floor.
