USING BALANCE OF SEWERAGE LOAN

The preparation of the necessary plans and specificationa for the proposed work to be carried out from the unexpended balance of the £34,000 sewerage loan is to be proceeded with immediately. A, decision to this effoct was arrived at by the Hastings Borough. Couneil last evening, when advice that the balance of this loan money could be diverted. The Seeretary of the Local Government Loans Board advised that, after consideration of all aspeets of the proposal, the board was prepared, when the unexpended balance of the loan was finally known, to favourably consider an application for the diversion of the loan balance for the works contemplated by the couneil. These inelude underground conveniences and the extension of sewers. The sanction would, however, be subject to such conditions as the board thought fit to impose, and to the production of satisfactory plans and estimates.
