HAUMOANA SCHOOL
Meeting of Committee. The monthly meeting of the Haumoana School Committee was held. in the school, the chairman, Mr. Byford, presiding over ■ Messrs. McCormick, Manning and Chapman. Mr. Cockerill, the head-teaeher, was also present, The report. stated that the average attendance had been satisfactory. The school tanks had, 'been thoroughly cleaned, Mr. Hurdsfield had visited the school, The lawnmo.wers had, been sharpened. Arrangements for the school picnic were made. Buses are to convey the children to. Windsor Park, Hastings, and parents are asked, to provide a basket, It was deeided to submit an o-pt/.on to the dux scholar. as to yyhat would bo the most useful reward.. Mr. Byford and Mrs. Manning undertook to care for the school lawns during the holidays. The grass in the playground is to be, cut before the end of the school year. It was deeided to procure a new iionours board, the cost of which is not to exceed £5,'
