Work Done on the Roads

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. At the last meeting of the Waipukurau County Council the engineer, Mr R. B. Priee, submitted the following Teport on work done during November: "Hatuma Riding: General work has been carried out, the grader having been engaged raking in metal on all roads. It is expected that the monetary authority will be received at an early date for the widening of an additional mile to the Hatuma store, and as soon as this eomes to hand the work will be commenced. The contractor is producing the chips for the section started last year and should be ready in the new year to complete the sealing to the Waiou corner. "Mount Herbert Riding: The sealing of the Waipukurau racecourse highway has been completed and a substantial progress payment is being made on the work. A further section of 65 chains is liow under reconstruction and tenders have been called for the metalling.. The plans and speeifications Mve been returned approved for metalling on Nicholl's road and as soon as the grader can shape the road the work will be commenced. General work has been carried out on all riding roads by metal patching and grading. "Purimu Riding: No special work has been done here as the roads are in very fair order. After the new j'ear it may be advisable to put in hand some of the corner widening proposed earlier in the year and provided for in the estimates."
