SIR JAMES PARR'S DAUGHTER MARRIES

The wedding took place in England on November 6, of Lieutenant William Geoffrey Hornby, E.N., and Miss Christine Ethel Parr, youngest daughter of Sir James Parr, G.C.M.G., of Auckland, and the late Lady Parr. The .bridegroom is the son of the Eev. W. Hornby, vicar of Santon, Isle of Man, and Mrs. Hornby, and grandson of the late well-known Dr. J. J. Hornby, Provost of Eton. The ceremony was performed by Canon W. G. Elnor, in the restored Norman church of St. Mary the Virgin, Dover, which is mentioncd in the Domesday Book. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a smart tomato-toned frieze frock "with a spray of white gardenias at the neck, and a small black felt hat. The bridegroom was attended by Lieutenant P. F. Hoddinott. A reception was held at the . Brown House Hotel, where Sir James Parr received the guests, among them being the Rev. W. and Mrs. Hornby (bridegroom 's parents), Miss M. Hornby, and Mr. J. C. Hornby (bridegroom 's brother and sister), Miss Honor Thursby-Pel-ham, Mrs. John Colbeck, Miss Flora Colbeck, Mrs. T. M.
