GIFT PARTIES FOR THIS WEEK'S BRIDE
Miss Euby Loomes, whos9 marriagL* takes place this week, has been tliQ,guest of honour at several jolly gift partics. Mrs. Charles Curtis was the kostess at an afternoon party given at he* home in Park road, Hastings. The hostoss received her guests as thoy arrived, her gown being of pale bluo matclasse. The guest of honour chose a smart navy redingote over a striped silk frock. Games and • competitions quickly passed the afternoon, and when a delicious tea liad been enjoyed by all the guests, Miss Loomes was asked to open her parcels. Her sister, Miss Phyllis Loomes, who is to be her chief bridesmaid, assisted her. Miss Phyllis Loomes wore a beige suit. Later the guest ot honour thanked the hostess for the jolly party and the guests for all their gifts. Miss Billy Greening, Havelock North, was also a hostess, and her party took the form of a kitchen gifft evening. The hostess wore a frock 5n pastel shades, and the guest of honour chose a dainty gown in red, blue and' white tonings. Mr. Cyril Yerry supplied accordeon musie for the community singing, and Mr. C. Elphiclc played the piano anil Mr. Stanley also assisted. Amusing games also added to tlie evening' s enjoyment. Many useful presents were received by the guest of honour. and on heji behalf Mr. Tf. Verry tha\ik^d all the guestF. The evening was brought to r close with the singing -of "Auld Lang Syja«." j
