DUNEDIN, Nov. 29. At'a meeting of the sports committeo of the Otago Centre of the N.Z. Amateur Athletic Association to-night the sole selector (Mr. B. B. McNernan) announced that he was recommending to the New Zealand selection committee that the following Otago athletes be invited to take parf in the Dominion Empire Games trials at Wellington on Saturday week: — 100 yards and 220 yards: C. McGregor and H. D. Eamsay. 440 yards: H. J. Tyne. ' 880 yards: T. AUen. ' One mile: W. A, C. Pullar and T. AJlen. Three mile/} and six miles: A." B. Geddes. Broad jump and hop, step and jump: B.. G. Pilling. Women 'a high jump: Miss Betty Forbes (Oamaru). In addition to the above Mr. McKernan .is also recommending that Miss D. Strachan, of South Canterbury, who performed so brilliantly at the Otago women 's championships 10 days ago, be • invited to take part in the women 's broad jump and spring events at the Wellington trials.
