Progressive Pairs Tourney

(From

WAIPAWA, Last Night. A very enjoyable progressive pairs tournament was held on the Waipawa Bowling green during the week-end. There were a large number of entries. In the skips' section at the end of the day Kenny was found to have registered the largest number of wins, while Murray and A. B. Ireland, in the leads' section, were found to have secured the greatest number of victories. Tne Brewer Buttons again changed hands when a match was played on the Waipawa green during the week-end between the holders, Loughnan and Critchley, and the challengers, Carne and Parkin. The holders established an early lead, and looked like retaining the trophies, but Carne and Parkin were undismayed and continued their taslc to eventually run out the victors over the final stages by 14 to 11.
