Putting End to Conflict by Agreement

The Foreign Secretary, Mr Anthony Eden, questioned in the House of Commons about the application of pressure in connection -with the Far-Eastern aispute, said the object of the Brussels conferenee was to find a means of putting an end to the conflict by agreement. Britain was keeping in close touch with the TJnited States. i Beplying to another question^ Mr Eden said that the conditions under which the International Settlement at Shanghai were administered were governed by regulations which could not be modified without the consent oi the_ Chinese Government.
