Leading Contender for Lightweight Title NEW YORK, Nov. 19. Armstrong (Australia) defeated Billy Beauhuld on a technical lcnock-out in tbe fifth round of a ten-round bout. Armstrong has strengthened bis position ts the leading contender for the lightweight title, as teaubuld was previously unbeaten. It was a toe-to-toe, f ree-bitting battle and the loser was unable to withstond the power of Armstrong 's two-handed punehing and bis lOng right to the jaw. Armstrong floored Beauhuld for a count of niue iu the first round and hnoeked bim down in the fifth for seven, wberpupon the Teferee intervened. At Detroit Jimmy Admiek ,(13.8) . knocked out Maxie Rosenbloom (13.3}) in the seeond round of a ten-round eontest. A left to the jaw floored Rosenbloom in the first round for a count of eight and a series of bard body punches and a rigbt cross to tbe jaw finisbed bim.
