Severe injuries were suffered by George Duke, aged 24t and Lewia Biakeiy, aged 20, when a car driven by Duke crashed into a pile of timber beside the road, smashed a telegraph pdle and endcd up badly wrecked half a chain away. » The accident occurred half a Mil» from Puniho at 12.30 this morning. The third occnpant of the car, Allan Bailey, escaped with minor abrasions. Duke suffered injuries to the skull and shock, and Blakely a fractured thigh, The car turned a double somersault,. the left side and hood being torn off.
