Takapau Gathering
The monthly meeting of the Takapau Women's Tistitute, Avhich took the form of International Day was held in the Public H411, Mrs W. B. White, the president, presiding over a large attendance of members and visitors. The report and .balance sheet of the Spring Flower Show were read by the Honorary treasurer, Mrs C. Pease, and were/ considered to .be very satisfaetory, tjie balance sheet showing a small profit on the year's working. Mrs W. Jackson moved a hearty vote of thanks to all who had assisted in the running ;'bf the Show and particularly mentioned the good work of Mrs . Pease. - Miss. Gamble was .aecorded a vote of thanks for a very interesting reading on Switzerland. ' i The eoinpetition for the afternoon was the best quilted cushion, the winners being Mrs W. B. White 1, Mrs Robertson 2. Donations of two guineas each were made to the Health Camp scheme and to the dental clinic operating in the district. The. hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames. Bjorngaard, Massey, W. L Smith and Miss Sylvia Thomson.
