Typhoon Hits Philippines THOUSANDS ARE HOMELESS (Received 13, 8.45 a.m.) MANILA, Nov. 12. The typkoon which hit the Philippines has left death and destruction in its wake. There are five dead, 15 injured, 32 missing and 3000 homeless. The wreckage of scores df small boats litters the beaches. Debris, including roofs from houses, chokes the flooded streets. The typhoon caused heavy property damage and disrupted comrnunications and shipping. Manila was struck by violent winds and torrential Tains. 1 A boat containing 27 fishermen is repOrted to have Capsized in the bay. The British steamer Kenilworth sent an S.O.S. and said she was aground near Penanggungan Point, but apparently she was riding out the storm.
