With the tide of battl© swinging to and fro along a fierce mountain torrent, Republicahs are desperately fesisting wave after wave of Moors and Italians; who are carrying on an offensive against them on the Aragon front. The insurgents captured several hills and villages on- both banks - of the Gal.efo, but llepublicau collnter-attacks dislodged them before the positions were consolidated and captured num-. bers of Italian and Moorish troops. Prisoners claimed that the insurgent wastage of manpower was very hfeavy as they dashed up the mbuntaih filopes mto a hail of machine-gun bullets. A Republican patrol penetrated insurgent territory and blew up bridges on the Jaca-Saragosso railway, cutting "the last of the communications between Jaca and ^abinanigo.
